John F. McGuire 66, of Franklin, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Thursday September 15, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Brown) McGuire.

Born July 29, 1950 in Milford, a son of the late Edwin L. and Elinor (Keefe) McGuire he was a longtime Franklin resident.

He was raised and educated in Franklin and was a 1968 graduate of Franklin High School. He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1972. John worked as a sales representative for the Kasson & Keller Window Manufacturing Company, for 35 years.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. John was an avid New England sports team enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by his children, Daniel J. McGuire and his wife Erin of Stoughton, Thomas E. McGuire and his fiancé Stephanie Greenfield of Boston and Amy K. Odom and her husband Andrew of Raynham, 2 brothers Arthur E. McGuire of Worthington, Ohio and Peter W. McGuire of Wrentham. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, Madison & Samantha McGuire, Ruby, Charlie & Jesse Odom.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday Sept. 20th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.

His interment will be held privately.

Calling hours are Monday from 4-8PM.
